As candidate for Secretary of State in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Josh Zakim’s goal is to make Massachusetts a more inclusive and accessible Commonwealth by reducing barriers and facilitating access for eligible residents to participate in our elections.
An attorney and Boston city councilor since 2013, Zakim’s passion for public service and community-building led him to seek public office. He is currently the chair of the council’s Committee on Civil Rights, where he has advocated for the rights of the under-served and disempowered in the city of Boston, working on issues of discriminatory housing, predatory rental housing, immigration, and voting rights. Before running for office Josh worked at Greater Boston Legal Services where he represented working families facing the loss of their homes to foreclosure at the hands of predatory lenders.
During this election year, Lower Cape Indivisible is presenting opportunities for political candidates at all levels of government to meet and talk with constituents in an informal setting. However, forums should not be construed as an endorsement of the candidate by LCI.
