A decade after An Inconvenient Truth (2006) brought climate change into the heart of popular culture comes the follow-up that shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution. Proceeds support the Association to Preserve Cape Cod. Advance tickets online at CapeCinema.org.
MA Clean Energy Future Tour
Every day our communities on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket witness firsthand the effects of a changing climate. The impact of human behavior on our climate will confound generations to come, but how we proceed now matters most. Taking action to combat climate change, lower our carbon output, and ensure a resilient environment and coastline must be among our top priorities in our region. On Monday, May 8th, the Massachusetts State Senate will be holding a public hearing on clean energy and climate change priorities for Massachusetts from 6pm to 8pm in the Mashpee Middle-High School Auditorium. The forum will be hosted by our State Senator, Julian Cyr.
The Mashpee hearing is the first of the Massachusetts Clean Energy Future Tour – which will consist of nine public hearings across the Commonwealth (from the Berkshires to the Cape) to hear from constituents and stakeholders on clean energy and climate change issues. In these public hearings, members of the Senate will hear directly from residents regarding clean energy and climate action.
As Cape and Islanders, we more than any communities in the Commonwealth have a stake in how we respond to climate change.
There will be much to discuss in Mashpee on May 8th. Hope to see you then
