THURSDAY, JANUARY 3, 2019 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM
Outer Cape Indivisible and Lower Cape Indivisible will be holding their first coordinated action of the year at Congressman Bill Keating’s district office on January 3rd as the newly Democratic House of Representatives are gaveling into session in Washington, D.C.
This Day of Action—one of hundreds occurring nationwide—is designed to celebrate our historic midterm election results and help usher in a new Congress of progressive legislation and action! Foremost on our list is H.R.1, the Democrats’ planned first bill to preserve democracy. The Hyannis event will also showcase other issues of deep concern to Indivisible stakeholders including: health care, climate and environment (Green New Deal), immigration and a clean Dream Act, women’s and LGBTQ rights, and common-sense gun reform.
WE ASK YOU TO JOIN US—AND THOUSANDS AROUND THE COUNTRY—TO CELEBRATE OUR PROGRESS AND COMMIT TO THE WORK AHEAD!
ASSEMBLE at 1:00 PM in front of the Congressman’s office
MEET with members of Congressman Keating’s staff to relay our priorities for the new Congress, thank the Congressman for his work in the House, and call for his strong support for the democracy reform bill, H.R. 1 and other progressive legislation
TALK with other activists as we celebrate our historic wins in November, learn what’s next, and EAT CAKE!
